Helotes Area Chamber Foundation Trade or Vocational Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to individuals who plan to enroll in an accredited Trade or Vocational Program. There will be a minimum of two $1,000 scholarships awarded with a max of $4,000 to individuals applying in 2024. For this scholarship, there is no age limit, nor do you have to be currently enrolled in school.

Selection is based on essays, letters of recommendation, and community activities.

Scholarships will be paid to the School – in the student’s name.

cRITERIA

  • The person applying must reside in the O’Connor, Sotomayor, Harlan, and Brandeis High School or in one of the previously listed school’s attendance boundaries or a family member of a current HACC member. See Exhibit 1-4 for maps.
  • Completed scholarship application.
  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals with direct knowledge of your abilities.
  • Briefly tell a recent challenge or obstacle you overcame and more importantly, how did this change your perspective or open you to a different way of thinking? (500 word minimum)
  • Tell us about your WHY. What drives you? Why are you motivated to pursue your profession? (300 word minimum)
  • List your involvement in clubs, and other community organizations. Please include dates of involvement and what role you played.
  • List any honors or awards you received during high school.
  • Have you received any other scholarships? If so, which ones?
